=> Mintmarks on Morgan Dollars (1878-1921)

A Mint Mark is the initial or abbreviation of the Mint producing the coin and is usually engraved on the reverse or the value side. Morgan and Peace dollars were minted at several branch mints in addition to the main mint in Philadelphia. Morgan Dollars were minted from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921.

Location of Mint Marks on Morgan Dollars
The mint marks on both coins are located on the reverse near the bottom of the coin. On Morgan dollars, the mint mark is found underneath the wreath surrounding the eagle.
